Return
Rocking Grass has finally undergone its long-awaited redesign, so things should now be clearer and more eye-pleasing to all. More structural changes will take place once we get around to them - I am hoping to add a page of links and a listing of suppliers I like in Dublin. You will also notice advertisements on the side.
Since we moved house in January, I have found myself doing very little cooking, mostly because of (perceived) time-constraints. (While still not long, my commute is now much more time-consuming than it used to be.) After a full working day and a journey on top of it, I find myself in far greater need to scoff something quickly, either in the form of reheating something from the previous days or just putting together some pasta, or indeed letting my husband do the entire cooking. Those few times I have actually taken my time in preparing something I have enjoyed it, notably when I visited several smaller shops nearby: butchers, greengrocers and the like, rather than merely diving into a supermarket. I’m yet to work out a solution for the situation, I suspect it requires rearranging of priorities and current interests in my head.
I have got hold of a copy of the Curye on Inglysh, thanks to a friendly period cook and his fiancee, and last weekend I bought A Taste of History: 10,000 Years of Food in Britain by a variety of writers. Hopefully I will be able to return to these in subsequent posts, and thus actually persuade myself to try out a few projects as well.
